(Minneapolis), 96.5 KXRX(Seattle), Rock 102.3(Tulsa,OK) and many, many more. Corps.
have ruined many great stations across this great country. It really is a shame.

Lets us not forget KNUS 98.7 (In the early 70's when it was Free Form/Underground ! ! ! !)

And...... KFJZ-AM 1270, also in the early 70's, when they weren't afraid to Rock with songs more than 6:00 minutes long . . . . . .

I miss Z-Rock ! !

Does anyone here (from L.A.) remember the great 94.7 KMET??? or even the late 70's -80's classic DJ lineup of its rival 95.5 KLOS?

WKDF-Nashville

WMC FM 100 Memphis - One of the first AOR FMs in the nation, and one of the the most powerful ones at the time late 60s early 70s.
Thanks Jon Scott ;)

WZMF Menomonee Falls WI (Milwaukee) Free form radio at its best

Even though this station is still around, KROQ in LA from 1978-1983 was totally awesome....

Every thing from Adam Ant to the Stones to the Pretenders...

I remember KRST back in the late 70s or early 80s. I was visiting relatives in NM and KRST had an unusual and interesting sounding rock format. Currently it's a Country station.

A GREAT ROCK radio station that is NO longer around, is any station that would have played these tracks from Grand Funk Railroad, instead of "We're An American Band"......

BLACK LICORICE / THE RAILROAD

LONELINESS

MEAN MISTREATER

GREAT ROCK RADIO is just as much about what you do not play, as what you do.....

Something brushed aside by the creatures that work in "today's" Rock radio abyss..

I'd go for KEXL 104 in San Antonio back in the 70s. Sounded like a cool and unique station. Too bad I wasn't alive back then so all I have are snippets to listen.

BTW there was a Q96 in SA in the late 80s up thru 1993 when they flipped to KSJL. My dad won a trip to San Fransciso to see the first Lalapooloza concert on that station.

KMJX Magic 105 in Little Rock was awesome until about 2000....

It died a couple of months ago...

Long time rocker in San Jose KSJO 92.3 ,KZZF 107.5 Fresno (Z-ROCK),Back in the 80's KBOS 94.9,KKDJ 105.9,KFIV 102.3 and KDJK 95.1 Modesto.

THIS IS A NO-BRAINER......Z-ROCK OUT OF DALLAS BACK FROM THE MID 80S-MID 90S PLAYING HARDROCK/METAL SIMULATCASTED IN MANY CITIES EVERYWHERE. THEY PLAYED CURRENT ROCK/METAL WITH HARD CLASSICS. YOU GOT EVERYTHING FROM POISON...TO 1 HIT WONDERS TO SLAYER....AND HAD THE Z-ROCK TOP WEEKLY 50 COUNTDOWN.
