Great Songs, Great Memories

That is the format w/Jeff Rollins, Ed Brand, Chick Watkins, etc.

It's Westwood One Adult Standards. 35-64 champ! They do LOTS of music research for this format. They play researched hits from the '50s, '60s, and '70s plus selected recent favorites from the eighties featuring artists like Barry Manilow, James Taylor and Elton John. There is a REASON for EVERY music selection.

In my opinion, it is the BEST presentation and engineering of this type of stuff.

In another post, Vchimpanzee said, "I Just Called to Say I Love You" gets on my nerves but it's been around awhile. However, "Guitar Man" has a screaming guitar that's completely out of place and I don't care what surveys say or who likes what. Same for Olivia Newton-John."

Note that (with all due respect) his taste may be a bit more conservative than an "average" boomer. I'm 60 and find ther music "perfect" for me. To each his own.

I can tell you from experience (and my wallet) that it is a quite easy format to SELL ADS in - and want to reach boomers.

Use Google for alot more.

The format has been getting more conservatve in recent years--especially since the demise of the Jones format--after trying the same failed experiment that Timeless Favorites did. Only they never went quite that far.

I was referring to one Olivia Newton-John song with a screaming guitar, not the singer, in the post that was quoted.

They're really bad about playing adult contemporary garbage this time of year. Only this format, out of all the radio stations that go all Christmas, is LESS conservative this time of year.
