I'm surprised this hasn't been brought up on the boards today, and it's almost over. But from 6am this morning to 7pm, 92.9 WBOS, 96.9 FM Talk, Country 102.5, 105.7 WROR, and Magic 106.7 have been simulcasting this radio-thon for kids who are too poor to go to summer camp. And I'd like to know what you think of it. Just go to the links of one of their websites to find out.

Greater Media Radio-thon Simulcast

I thought it sounded pretty good as I listened to WROR a couple times in the car during my work travels.
This morning, during a break from Loren and Wally, heard Julie Devereaux interviewing someone (from Camp HarborView, I think). Julie did mention all 5 stations and that "today, we are one big happy family."
Later on, again on WROR, heard Magic's Candy O'Terry and another woman interviewing, via phone, musical artist Donna Summer who is originally from Dorchester, MA. Candy, like Julie, mentioned all 5 stations.
These "radio-thon" moments were maybe 5 minutes long and then it was back to each station's regular programming.
From what little I heard, they did a good job.

If I had money, I would donate just because the announcers from all the GM stations were so compelling. Next year for me. But you all reach into your pockets and send a kid to camp. This is the way to go with kids between 11 and 14 to try to curb problems before they start.
