Greatest Intros in Rock

Oh My My - Ringo Starr
Beach Baby - The First Class
My Girl - The Temptations (and the song that got him on his way to first place - or was that No. 1?)
Question - The Moody Blues
Sunday Will Never Be The Same - Spanky and Our Gang

Cherry Hill Park- Billy Joe Royal- 1969...great tune and intro!!

That one almost has an "Eleanor" sound to it (The Turtles)
Another good Billy Joe Royal intro: "I Knew You When"

"We've Got More Soul"--Dyke & the Blazers

How about "On the Road Again" Canned Heat (1968)...that psychadelic (buzzing sound) intro. I also like the intro to "I Say A Little Prayer" (1967) by Dionne Warwick and "Spooky" Classics IV (1968)

If you ever listened to Dan Ingram he used to comment whenever he played that song on CBS-FM that that was the worst sax he ever heard.
Hmmm, just for grins I checked a listing of the top 100 greatest saxophonists in Jazz, R&B and Rock.
Didn’t find Dave Ingram’s name on the list. ::)

Who's Dave Ingram?

my next door neighbor.

There is always another way of putting it so that it isn't verbalized:

"Light My Fire", by The Doors, answering, "I Gotcha", by Joe Tex

"Fire" - the Pointer Sisters

Okay.....If we're moving this into Can-con (again), I say no Anne Murray intro beats the fuzz guitar on "You Won't See Me".

Another great (or at least unusual) Can-con intro would be the castanets on Paul Anka's "Dance Dance On, Little Girl"

Speaking of Paul Anka. On You-Tube is a video of him performing his hits (live). He is backed by an all-female orchestra, all of whom are dressed in white.

I think this was filmed in Calgary in 2007 during his 50th Anniversary concert, but I’m not sure. Anyone know?

Message In A Bottle (Sending Out An S.O.S.) - The Police
Baby I Need Your Loving - Johnny Rivers
SOS - ABBA
