Have to respectfully disagree here, nit picker that I am. ;)

Honky Tonk Pt 1 opens with the lead guitar laying down the basic 12-bar blues bass line for the tune. Technically, it is a vamp, not an intro.

Honky Tonk Pt2 has no intro. Pt 1 fades out at the 7th bar of a sax solo and Pt 2 opens with bars 8 through 11 of that solo, intended as though it is an unbroken continuation of Pt1.

Although either piece can and [does] stand alone as recorded singles, musically (and together) they comprise one extended arrangement.

And I agree 100% with myself when I estimate that Honky Tonk 1&2 rates in the top 10 of R&R instrumentals of the 50s. 8)

Wasn't "A Younger Girl" a mid-sixties tune by the Lovin' Spoonful, with another charted version by the Critters?

or are we talking about the ridiculously depressing "A Young Girl" by Noel Harrison (also mid-sixties).

The Critters tune was simply "Younger Girl".

Another Critters tune was "Mr. Dyingly Sad"

I don't know if it was mentioned...I read many pages.

With a Girl Like You - Troggs

They're not playing their guitars, they're slamming them!

I nominate this song also as one of the founding moments of punk rock.
They get the whole song done in 2 minutes and 4 seconds. There's intros longer than that!

I am guessing that "Smoke On The Water", by Deep Purple was probably posted at some point, but it does have a great intro, as well as a great ending.

LOL - If you were a member of the Addams Family you could revel in the misery of it all.
