Greatest Intros in Rock

my vote would go to Mancini's "March of the Cue Balls" (which has been used as a news intro/sounder)

The Westinghouse stations used it for years...Go to historyofwowo.com if you want to hear it on some top of the hour ID's.

Couple of cold vocal intros:

Beatles "When I Get Home"
Beach Boys "When I Grow Up (To Be A Man); "Good Vibrations"

And, yes, "Hush" is just made of awesome.

I believe that somewhere on this thread "Smoke On The Water", by Deep Purple was also mentioned.

WMAQ in Chicago used it for a time in the 60s for local news. This was as an NBC 0&0 long before Westinghouse took over.

Foolish Little Girl - The Shirelles
It's Too Late - Carole King
