Green Day on WHUD

I'v noticed lately that 100.7 WHUD occasionally throws in Green Day's Boulevard of Broken Dreams. However, the song has half the bridge cut and almost all the ending. So really, a comment and a question.
Comment...I personally dont think this song really fits into AC. Green Day is clearly an alternative band (whom I personally enjoy greatly)...which is why I understand half the song is cut out.
The question is...why bother playing it at all? Does this song really fit along side Elton John and Celine Dion? What does everyone think?

"Time of Your Life" fits in well, but I don't think Boulevard of "Broken Dreams fits in." I agree with you.<P ID="signature">______________

Personally, I generally dislike (hate) Green Day in general. But I think "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" is a great song, a definite cut above most pop fare. Now I may be more of an Oldies and Classic Rock listener, but for Current music I guess my choice is Hot AC.... I'm definitely not an alternative, modern rock, CHR, rap or hip hop listener. I think it fits just fine.... maybe the same way "One Headlight" by Wallflowers did from a few years ago.

Agreed...however WHUD is more AC than Hot AC (like WGNY or WPLJ)...which was my point about BoBD and AC radio.
