Green Day

In my local area of Hudson Valley NY, the big AC station (100.7 WHUD)occasionally throws in Green Day's Boulevard of Broken Dreams. However, they cut half the bridge and almost all the ending. So really, a comment and a question. I personally dont think this song really fits into AC. Green Day is clearly an alternative band (whom I personally enjoy greatly)...which is why I understand half the song is cut out. The question is...why bother playing it at all? Does this song really fit along side Elton John and Celine Dion? Has this song crept up elsewhere?

I hate it, too, when a song has to be edited so much to fit on one format. WLTW and WALK had it on their playlists a while back. My understanding is that there is a version of the song without all the guitars. <P ID="signature">______________

What is the use when they make the song shorter and more boring?

This is the same version Casey Kasem plays on his Hot AC countdown. I really don't understand why. One of my local Hot AC's plays it too. I understand cutting songs like American Pie for time...but a song like Boulevard isn't all that long anyway. Weird.

KVLY plays it in the RGV in South Texas. Everytime it comes on it really gets on my nerves. I like the song, but I too feel this song has no place on an AC station.

How about a version with a singer who can actually sing? He has to be one of the most tone-challenged singers of all time.

This makes no sense to me...it's not like they're a core artist who just happened to have a huge hit that didn't really fit...I doubt most AC listeners give 2 beans about altrock.
