Greenbush Documentary

Congratulations to WATD station owner Ed Perry on his Greenbush Documentary that aired last night on WATD. Very well put together documentary about the demise and rebuilding of the Greenbush line on the South Shore. If you missed it last night, the Greenbush Documentary will be rebroadcast next Wednesday on 95.9-FM after the 6:00 pm news.

WATD/95.9 is one of those rare type of local stations that truly makes a concerted effort in super-serving their local area. Ed has done a superb job in running that station since the fall of 1977 (when WATD first came to the air). If you ever have a chance to visit the station, you'd be totally amazed on what this little Class A has done over the years (AND they've got the countless awards on the walls to prove it, too). Ed Perry is also a person who loves truly radio, not only for the managerial aspect of it but for the fun of it too! His station lobby area is filled with vintage radios to boot. He must be doing something right!

Great local station. I'm not a fan personally of the music they play, but it's a very well programmed station that super serves it's local area!

WATD is an excellent example of how local radio CAN work. It would be easy for Mr. Perry to voice track all day after morning drive, but its clear that he is a true 'radio' guy and not after all the $$$$ he could make. I only wish more station owners would use WATD as a model for success.

P.S. Hi Peter....WO radio show here...hope all is well
