Greene County Gold

We no longer have the Sunday Night Oldies Dinner. Or Terry Lee. But we do have Grene County Gold From WANB AM 1210 FM 105.5. From 6 pm to Midnight, The Greaser {Doug Wilson}has the Show Broken up.http://www.greenecountygold.us/. WANB is Owned by BCI. I think they should simulcast it on WKHB 620 Or WKFB 770 now that they both have FM Translators ,It Would Complement Those Stations Increase The Signal of WANB. Thus more Listeners ,More Advertisers. And Fill in a Sunday Night Gap.

I would have to agree with your assessment, though frankly I've never heard the show. The important questions: (1) Does "the Greaser" buy the time on WANB? (2) If the answer is "yes," would Robert Stevens think it worthwhile enough to extend it north without some additional compensation from "the Greaser"? (3) If the answer is "no," would Stevens have the wherewithal to put in whatever automation is required to extend "the Greaser" north? (4) Has anyone posed any of these questions to BCI/Stevens himself?

From the reporting on the subject up here, I'd think Stevens is not interested. He already has said he isn't planning to extend WKVE's signal to the new FM 94.1. He hasn't decided what to put on FM 97.5 -- and I doubt Frankie Day is going to become the 24-hour voice of "Keepin' The Oldies Alive" in Westmoreland County.

the "Greaser" (Doug Wilson) does not buy time on WANB for the oldies show. he is an employee of Bob Stevens (and a good one at that). Doug has done the sunday night oldies show for many years. Stevens would be wise to simolcast that show on his fm translators on sunday nights.

WANB 103.1 Broadcasting from Waynesburg Had a strong signal in North Hills, We Listenen ever Sunday Night. When it was Announced That 103.1 was Moving to Mt. Pleasant and Becoming WKVE, We Wrote to Bob Steven's Requesting he Still carry Greene County Gold, But got no responce. Then we Wrote Mr. Steven's Asking he Simulcast it on WKHB 620 Following the Sunday Night Rosary. Again no responce. Now their is a Major Gap in Sunday Night radio. No "True Dinner" on WWSW. and Terry Lee is gone. The Greaser will Fill That Gap.Waynesburg Advertisers will see New faces.[ We Went to Hot Rods BBQ, And told our friends About it .]

Have to agree with Loeper on this one (Hey John!). Doug would be a fresh voice to the scene who knows his stuff. I consider his Elvis special he did several years ago (featuring Gordon Stoker of the Jordanaires and the late Floyd Cramer) some of his best work. I remember how well that went as we gave away Elvis stamps. Good times!
