Thd stations continue to fall in the numbers and from what I hear the same is true in the revenue numbers. CC has been handed their ass in a hand basket. Interestsing to see that WLXN AM with their translator has picked up 18,000 listeners and a showing in the PPM. Not bad for a station that only covers about 1 of the 8 country metro and is certainly not a 6+ station!
It's not the same as it was. There was no oldies station until WLXN, and although a lot of what they play still belogs on Hot AC, it's mostly the sort of thing an oldies station focusing on the 70s and 80s would play.amfmradio1 said:IMHO, I think it's indescribable to see one of my favorite radio stations (98.7Simon-WSMW) to have such indescribable ratings.
Even though it's based on the format that's broadcast nationwide (Jack, etc.), it seems like it's widely popular in the area, & listeners really enjoy the variety.
Agreed. 105.7 sounds like a true CHR. If 107.5 is claiming to be "hit music", they're a little behind....virgiltab said:I was about to say the good thing about this board is we can agree to disagree. Personally, I think 105.7 sounds much better than KZL, I used to really like KZL back when they "wrestled" with 98.7 in Greensboro, now (pardon the pun) KZL just doesn't sound as good. Never had a chance to listen to Rock 92.
"It's Been Awhile", but I finally heard Rock 92 play something "new".knowsdown said:Too bad about Rock 92 AND 1075kzl. Both have great signals but the music is so heavily compressed and the optimods are so jacked up the tunes are just plain unlistenable. On top of that R92 uses "Best Of'" libraries where the songs are already compressed to death/sped up by the distributors. That and playing the same old same old, even when they started picking up some of the tunes that The Buzz plays, it's just a shadow of it's formerly technological-self. tsk-tsk
