Greensboro March PPM

What will it take to have the upper management at CC to take a strong look at this market? Thd stations continue to fall in the numbers and from what I hear the same is true in the revenue numbers. CC has been handed their ass in a hand basket. Interestsing to see that WLXN AM with their translator has picked up 18,000 listeners and a showing in the PPM. Not bad for a station that only covers about 1 of the 8 country metro and is certainly not a 6+ station!

Where do you see WLXN in this report? KLOVE is not WLXN AM

IMHO, I think it's indescribable to see one of my favorite radio stations (98.7Simon-WSMW) to have such indescribable ratings.

Even though it's based on the format that's broadcast nationwide (Jack, etc.), it seems like it's widely popular in the area, & listeners really enjoy the variety.

Secondly, I also think it's indescribable to have one of my favorite rock stations, "The Buzz" - 100.3WVBZ beat WKRR & that marathon morning borefest called the "Two Guys Named Chris" so-called "Show".

You know that months ago Rock92 even changed their music format from Classic Rock to music that reflects what The Buzz is programming.

Rock92 is a fine station, except for the mornings.

It's not the same as it was. There was no oldies station until WLXN, and although a lot of what they play still belogs on Hot AC, it's mostly the sort of thing an oldies station focusing on the 70s and 80s would play.

So wait. does thiws mean WLXN is now number one for Oldies? I havenb't' checked them out but will next time I'm
over there got the ears on, Pa!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D :mad: :eek: 8) ::) :-[

Too bad about Rock 92 AND 1075kzl. Both have great signals but the music is so heavily compressed and the optimods are so jacked up the tunes are just plain unlistenable. On top of that R92 uses "Best Of'" libraries where the songs are already compressed to death/sped up by the distributors. That and playing the same old same old, even when they started picking up some of the tunes that The Buzz plays, it's just a shadow of it's formerly technological-self. tsk-tsk

Gotta disaagre with knowsdon. The Rock 92 is off the charts and ratings are great and it is because of the morning show staying on until 3 like they do. Even if its the same thing and recordings and stuff it is still better than anything else in the time slots!!! ;) :) :D ;D Buts seriously folks, the other one has never sounded better. WKZL is still the best top fourty in the south and shouldn't hange a thing. Murphy never sounded better and it was last time I was in town so good to hear Murphy and the other ones and no mmusic. I hate music on a morning show and these gusy do it right and whenever am in town, these are the best stations along with 98.1 with the fiddles and all. Let's all just disagree to agreee~~!!!!!!!! 8) :eek: :eek: ;D :D ;) :-* :-\ ??? 8) :eek: :( ;D ;D ;D :D

Wonder if this means that Jerk Murphy will finally roll his HoverRound out of the KZL studio and head for the retirement community? Listening to a man who is bordering on receiving his Social Security checks..all while he tries to banter with a bunch of teeny boppers is depressing. 8)

Hillarious!! The man is barely fourty himself and they call the format top fourty!!! DUH!!!! :eek: ::) :p :-[ :-X I bet they stay number one for many years to come next in the future, too! ;D ;D ;D ;D :D :eek: Check the ratings if you dn't want to believe me, a expert on the matter (even though I don't get to listen to them too too often, when I do I know what I'm talking about, too) Period. :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: :-* ;D :D ;) :)

I was about to say the good thing about this board is we can agree to disagree. Personally, I think 105.7 sounds much better than KZL, I used to really like KZL back when they "wrestled" with 98.7 in Greensboro, now (pardon the pun) KZL just doesn't sound as good. Never had a chance to listen to Rock 92.

Agreed. 105.7 sounds like a true CHR. If 107.5 is claiming to be "hit music", they're a little behind....

"It's Been Awhile", but I finally heard Rock 92 play something "new".
