Greensboro: Should WKZL Go For The Gold?

So 107.5 continues to trend upward, trouncing 100.3 in the process. In fact, I am hearing they are doing very well in 25-54.

At this point, why not play with house money and shift toward Gold CHR? I would think the audience would welcome the likes of Kris Kross "Jump" and Mark Morrison "Return Of The Mack."

Here's an idea: Maybe do a throwback weekend - perhaps the 4-day 4th of July weekend coming up - and play several songs starting back at the early '90s, see what the response is, and go from there. I would love to hear your thoughts.
 
I presume you mean WMKS should move since you say 107.5 WKZL is trouncing 100.3.

None of the stations that have been emphasizing Golds mixed with currents have shown any signs of success. WPOW-FM has since gone all gold. The rest like WHQC, WZFT, WKFS and WBBM-FM have seen no significant growth and at least one if not two of them will be going back to a more traditional playlist.
 
iHeart should have left rock on 100.3 or should have put it back there. It outperforms Hits and is on a subpar signal in comparison. Absolutely boneheaded move.

WHQC sounds really good. Don't understand why the numbers aren't better in Charlotte. Hopefully, I Heart continues to be patient.
 
Couldn’t help but notice WKZL working some old school pop into their playlist, the likes of “OPP,” “Here Comes The Hotstepper,” and just moments ago, “Whoomp! There It Is!” Well played, keel it up.
