Greenstone USA Tubes

We need to re-tube one of our AM transmitters. Richardson charges $188 each for 833As and $14.60 for 807s. We found a company called Greenstone USA which charges $90 per 833A and $11 per 807. If anyone has any experience with these Greenstone tubes, could you email me directly to [email protected]. Greenstone provides a 137 day guarantee on 833s and 91 days on 807s.

Thanks.

If your shelves are already bare of spares you might not want to try it.
But, if you DO have even some used spares, not much to lose. If they don't work out your tail is covered by the used spares until you can get name-brand replacements. I can't recall ever having had a tube fail in a manner that did any other damage....though I'm sure somebody else on the board might have.

Consider the warranty offered by the name brands...probably longer.

Then consider the old practice of selling 30-day, 90-day, 1-year and 3-year warrantied CRT's (TV Picture tubes in the B&W days). The tubes were identical; only the sticker put on the box and the warranty paperwork was different.

Besides, where's your spirit of adventure these days????

Hello Art,

I have been using a Greenstone 3CX3000A7 for almost 5 years.
The tube was purchased new direct from the factory with a great
price-----meaning many hundreds less than Eimac. Performance
has been better than Eimac. I give this tube two thumbs up.
