So what's going on with the company that bought the Greenville cluster of radio statiions owned by George Pine and the last Jimmy Karr? Last I heard the economy in Greenville was extremely poor and stations were having to scramble for income. Didn't this company also buy stations in Indianola and Vicksburg?

I have no idea...BUT, after THREE operations in the Delta, I can safely say" Good Luck" to those who remain.....JBI

Is there enough money in this market to support several operators? I was recently in Greenville and had a chance to listen to most of the stations and did not hear a great deal of advertising. As I drove across the state there were some fairly good stations in the Starkville area. Think these were Cumulus stations but not really sure. I continued to hit the scan button just running around the dial .. some good .. some just OK. As radio struggles all over the country I can imagine that some of these small market stations are just "holding on". Why would Debut have a huge FM with Adult Contemporary in a market with such a H U G E Black population. Seems to me that a really good Adult Urban AC might be a better choice .. stations certainly has a Big signal? I am not in the market but a couple of times a year so I may be way off base.

Debut did change WNLA-FM Indianola to urban AC a couple of years ago. They also changed WBAQ from easy listening (one of the remaining few left in the country) to soft AC.
