Greenville

The more I think about it, talk on 93.3 may not be that bad of an idea. 106.3 is certainly signally challenged in areas (go west or south of Greenville.... and it seems to have a lot of "dead" spots, and doesn't get to Anderson well). WORD is a 6-7+ share station and The Planet is 3-4. They would get full upstate coverage with 93.3 and would have no need for the AM's anymore. Move the rock format over to 106.3, maybe the more viable station does deserve the better signal

Entercom clearly has no desire to put effort in to The Planet....it is their weakest station so maybe it deserves the weak signal. Maybe it would help the audio quality. They will never improve it.

I wonder how TRG's #s are? I can't imagine who would listen to that.

Who is this "Action Jackson" on Magic 98.9? Everything I read seems to state he's an icon in the market from times past but I can't remember or find anything. He's live weekends from 2-7p. Nice to see them investing in live talent on the weekends more.

Go way back.

Action Jackson was at Z103 (when it was simulcast with 103.3) and if memory serves, he survived the flip to 103X and went over to the co-owned (at the time) 107.3 Jamz.

Gald to hear you back on the air Reggie.

Ah! I was in another part of the state back then. Thanks for clearing up.

I commend them for having somebody live on 98.9 all day on Saturdays. That's rare around here these days.....if they'd only get off this 80s rock kick....

I am in Asheville and noticed that all of the Entercom station were silent this morning. 93.7 WFBC and WSPA 98.9 with 97.7 translator in Asheville, there was just dead air. I did notice that WFBC HD is back on the air also. Why is WFBC having so many problems with their HD signal. I do not listen much to WFBC anymore since WQNQ Star 104.3 in Asheville is now CHR which sounds much better. Were they just doing upgrades?

98.9 was also off Saturday (5/7) in the 8AM hour for about 20mins, but the rest of the cluster was on. The signal was out, then came back on low power for a few minutes before full blast again. Didn't check yesterday. I have no idea what it was.

Funny you should say that about WFBC. I agree. They aren't on ALL the hits like they should be. They're a strange and less than impressive CHR - WQNQ/Asheville, WNKS & WIBT/Charlotte and WNOK/Columbia are much better.

I scanned around yesterday and was really impressed at how good My102.5 sounded. Very balanced and on target for AC musically. The music isn't so old leaning anymore (although they still lean a little older) and they are on top of the current AC hits. They have a pretty good edge in sound over Magic 98.9 now. Too bad they don't carry the AC format 7 days a week. I like the mix of old and new.

I used to really like Magic 98.9 but their problem for years is that they play too much unfamiliar music for the AC format and don't have much variety....almost more now than ever.

it is cox and clear channel and entercom. nothing original in GSP.
Yup. No true competition here except for the AC format and that battle never seems to get anywhere. It's a shame that the country stations are owned together, that'd be a fun battle to have again.
