GreenvilleHD Videos on Upstate Radio Shows

I had often wondered what studio Beach Bob is using. In one scene you can clearly see WOLI 103.9 displayed on the window, leftover from the days of the 103.3/103.9 simulcast.

Are you sure? 103.3 and 103.9 were never simulcast in that building.....last time that was done was on Garlington Rd with Entercom. WOLT/WOLI use the old Barnstable studios in McAlister Square where WROQ, WTPT, and then-WGVC were. Is WOLI-AM there or are they on Pottery Rd?

actually I think that studio is the one that 106.3 used when they were oldies, as it faced the mall I believe.

My goof. You are right. I had incorrectly assumed what I saw on the video was a carryover from the simulcast days. Shame on me for not using my noggin to figure that WOLI is sharing that building.

Who's over at McAlister now? Does Davidson use it at at all anymore? I'm assuming 910 is back over at Pottery Rd since they aren't simulcasting and Bill Drake (on 103.3) is there also.

Always thought that was nice office the couple of times I saw Barnstable there. A lot of it's glass and you can see the DJ's "in action" from outside the mall. They had it decorated with guitars, oldies memorabilia, etc IIRC.

I remember that, but that was a while back when I was in the upstate and happened to be looking for some converter cables for a peice of electronic gear. Your right their setup there looked great.

Clear Channel's studios look nice too. Would be interesting to see the 92.5 and 96.7 ones, but I assume they look the same.

BTW, what was ever on Rutherford Rd? Granted, I haven't been around for an incredibly long time, but I don't remember a radio station being there in my time here.

WSPA-FM "Lite Rock 98.9" was also in a small production room on Rutherford from 1995 until the move to Garlington, and did very well from there.

If I recall correctly, that was where the old WFBC a-fm STUDIOS WERE.

That is right. When WFBC AM, FM, and TV were under the ownership of Multimedia (which also owned The Greenville News-Piedmont) , they were all located in what is now the WYFF-TV building. Around 1978, Multimedia sold channel 4 to Pulitzer Broadcasting and the call was changed to WYFF. Multimedia built a nice new building for the AM & FM right next door on the same complex. Sometime in the 90's, the radio stations ended up under the ownership of Sinclair. I believe Sinclair had also purchased 98.9 from Spartan around that time.
