Greenwald Back On Giants Play-By-Play This Weekend...

That's Doug, not Hank, and he'll be doing Giants play-by-play while Jon Miller and David B. Flemming are in Cooperstown for Jon's enshrinement in the Hall of Fame this weekend.

Doug will be working with J.T. Snow on the Giants Radio Network. Last year, he did one game for the Giants (against Milwaukee) that was as good as it gets -- especially since he did the entire ball game as a solo act.

Then, next week, it's back to Triple-A ball in friendly Fresno...

The whole story: http://www.fresnobee.com/2010/07/21/2014540/broadcaster-gets-callup-to-bigs.html

Speaking of Jon Miller, I'm surprised that the ESPN network didn't make Jon Miller's enshrinement into Cooperstown all about ESPN, much like they are prone to do with much other things - including Chris Berman being named to the NFL broadcasting Hall of Fame later this year...

I thought the Chris Berman NFL HoF thing was a joke. Couldn't believe he would ever get there. He is nothing more than a cartoon character compared to the serious radio/TV journalists. Kinda like giving an Oscar to Elizabeth Hasselbeck.

I (kind of) disagree with you on Berman. If you go back to when NFL Primetime first started and his ESPN coverage, he's done A LOT for the NFL. He may not be John Facenda, but he definitely put his stamp on the game.

Maybe it's because the ceremony was covered by MLB Network, not ESPN?
