Greetings and an Imaging question

Just dropping in to greet everyone and say thanks for providing an informative and entertaining forum. Independent VO talent, former jock/producer/copywriter. Been a while since actually being on-air, but still a radio guy at heart, I suppose.

Question about marketing for imaging/promo VO work:

PDs, Creative Directors, or Production Directors; any preference towards CDs, or for emailed mp3s (or, preferably, links thereto)? I've heard varying reports for years now, that a lot of folks prefer having in hand the tangible object that is a CD.

Or, is it just as much a hit-or-miss proposition as other areas of VO marketing? I'm guessing a lot of PDs/CDs find it easier to click a link than to open a CD box and throw it in a player...thoughts?

Thanks!

Some find it easier to import a decent quality mp3 (or AAC or whatever format audio file) into their digital editor or on-air MOHD (music on hard drive) systems instead of having to deal with taking a CD and ripping it into their system themselves. I guess it's all personal preference.

I'd have to agree with Bill that it's "personal preference," and mine would usually be an mp3 file in my e-mail box. That's the quickest and easiest way for me to drag and drop your demo into Adobe Audition or whatever. Besides, who needs to clutter their office/studio with dozens of demo CDs?

That pretty much confirms what I've been thinking, although the CD probably hasn't gone the way of the dodo just yet.

With that in mind, would you mind if I sent you a link to my imaging demo?

I always like to stay in touch with potential future voice-over people, so I'd love to hear what you've got.
