Hey all - I'm Lee, I live in Joshua Tree, originally from Tucson, then Burbank for 30 years. Obsessively listened to radio as a child through the 60s, (KFIF, KIKX, KTKT Tucson, KOMA and XERB when the signals were boosted at night) migrated to underground FM (KWFM) in the early 70s, got into punk, obscure garage & psych, rockabilly, surf, etc in the late 70s... started an independent record label, Dionysus Records in the mid 80s. Nowadays, I have a show on LuxuriaMusic.com called Over Under Sideways Down - Wednesdays 5-7PM, and am an on-air personality at Z107.7FM in Joshua Tree. Also a DJ with Desert Soul Club Palm Springs (45s only!) and bassist with Joshua Tree's Jesika von Rabbit.
I love listening to unscoped air-checks from the early '60s to the early '70s. Favorite year, 1968! Much respect to the memory of my friend, air-check collector and LuxuriaMusic host, Gary Schnider. Happy that Luxuria still airs his show.
