Greggo News?

Sorry if this has already been posted, but I was wondering if anyone knew what this was about? I can't imagine Sweet Greggo has any station options left, but here is what he posted on his Facebook yesterday:

"Greg Williams- not sure when my next shift will be at the fan.......but there will be some news by wednesday.........keep your fingers crossed for me....and yes,,,,I LIKE THAT GIG !!!" 13 hours ago
 
I like Greg, but if The Fan hires him full time he is one lucky SOB......After the Big Dick Hunter video started going around I didn't think he would ever get back in this market again. Especially this soon. For him to even be filling in, let alone being considered for a permenant spot is a miracle. I don't care how desepate The Fan may be.......Count your blessings Greg Williams...
 
I have now lived near or in the metroplex for five years and have logged many hours on Central, LBJ, and other freeways. I know this about the people of DFW- they will do almost anything to get a good view of a wreck, even if it causes more wrecks.

As bad as The Fan's ratings are, they need the constant possibility of a wreck to draw a crowd. People will tune in to hear Greggo- some in the hopes that he has turned things around, but most waiting for what they see as the inevitable.

Either way, the Fan will gain at least a few listeners in the process.

Of course, a ratings bump based on a mix of nostalgia and schadenfreude will be short lived. If they continue to broadcast crap, it won't matter in the long run.
 
Where would they put him? Their weekday lineup seems pretty secure unless he replaces Jagger and I can't see Greggo doing mornings.

You're kidding, right?

Pretty secure? Gavin has been there less than a couple of months, Barsky and Gregg both less than a year, and in that less=than=year they've gone from being together to splitting them up and adding one of them to the failing morning show.

And pretty secure? Last time I looked they were TWNETY FIFTH in Men 25-54 ratings. Or, to put it another way, KVIL, a station that appeals to Highland parks moms draws more men 25-54 than the Fan does. KDMX, a station that appeals to 25-34 year old women has more male listeners aged 25-54 than the Fan does. They're ratings are so ridiclous, that KLIF-FM, a station that appeals to teenage GIRLS has more male listeners aged 25-54 than the Fan does...

Pretty secure? That whole line up should be fired for massive incompetence.

Look we all know the Fan has changed lineups more than some people change underwear but all I was saying was that they seem to have a fairly stable roster up to this point.
Just look at their lineup:

Jagger & Barsky, 6-10 (don't see it unless Jagger get's the boot & I doubt Greggo could stay awake that early)
Newy & Richie, 10-2 (this is the only legit sports lineup on the Fan I can't see management breaking them up)
Gavin & Gregg, 2-6 (Gavin's new & Gregg does ok in that time slot although Gregg & Greggo show has a nice ring to it)
Arnie Spanier, 6-10 (Arnie's seems to enjoy working by himself don't see him & Greggo as a fit)
Dan O'Malley, 10-2 (Dan's style could work well w/ Greggo but I doubt he wants to work the late shift)

If 20th-25th in MEN 25-54 is considered 'ok'.

Most people rating 25th in their timeslot IN THEIR TARGET DEMO would get fired.

But no, Bigby just shuffles more deck chairs.

And yes, it's official. My wife works for an ad agency in town, the Fan has already alerted them that they're adding Greggo.
 
I hope Greg can get his life together. With that being said, KRLD-FM will still get a .02 in the next PPMs
