Gresh on the Fan

I was Listening to the Fan Tonight (Saturtday into Sunday) and heard a Fimular Voice. It was Andy Gresh doing over Nights on the Fan. He sounded good and Very Fimular with both the Yankess and the Mets. Anyone know if He is in the running for the open Overnight spot on the Fan?

What's up with that? WFAN can be heard in Providence?Although when Imus first got syndicated Steve McDonald (Jim Shorts) was a regular fill in on WFAN's IMUS show with sports on WWRX. WHJY's competitor. Anyone remember that?
He would be off on WHJY but filling in on WWRX/WFAN.

Supposedly The Score is switching to country within the next few months...

Where did you hear that one?Providence can't handle a second Country station.A possible flip to "Jack".
Not Country.

Other positive flips.

Real Oldies
Classic Rock
70's and 80's
FM-Talk.

Only if they are programmed right.

Please tell us where you heard that one?

This came from a relative of one of The Score's employees. I'm not going to say it will definitely happen, because I don't know; I'm not an employee. I'm only relating what I was told a few days ago. I'm guessing since the woman who told me this is a relative of an employee, that I wouldn't be wrong in saying she'd be a fairly reliable source.

My opinion is that whatever they put there will not work. The 99.7 frequency has had such a troubled past that I'm not going to put any faith into whatever goes there.

Someone is pulling your leg. The only conceivable reason to go up against WCTK would be to intentionally set the station up for failure. Brand it as "99.7 The Horse's Ass", tank in the ratings, then sell it. Even if they differentiated the station by playing more classic country they wouldn't get the right age group to listen & would be better off going with 50s & 60s oldies for the same demo. It isn't going to happen & they're smart enough to know why. I don't think you're intentionally posting false info, but someone is feeding you a line.

That's why I said "supposedly". I don't know why the girl would make it up, but again, I'm not a decision maker at the station, so I can't say it's a fact. I don't know why they ever do half of the stuff they've done at 99.7. I learned to stop questioning their "logic" a long time ago. I'm sorry if I am posting false info; I'm just repeating what I heard from a fairly reliable source.

The reason why it has such a troubled past is because Citadel has consistently refused to put a dime into improving the station. They let the various incarnations of "the Edge" whither on the vine, the Hawk was an after-thought to them, and Z100 was simply not given anything with which to work. The Score, if it does die, will be lost because its competition, WEEI-FM, produced a vastly superior product.

Re: "The Score" flipping to Country. What are you talking about?

Well, one thing I would point out is that if there was a flip it may only be on the FM side. I still doubt it happening, but what do I know. Someone along the way thought it was a good idea to switch from KIX 106 to HOT 106 and try to make it urban...that still cracks me up.

Real Story on score change of format

I've got this right from the HORSES mouth, the score will become 99.7 the animal. This station will be an affiliate of the animal channel on cable/satelite with all animal related stuff and songs. The playlist includes

-who let the dawgs out
-cat scratch fever
-sheep go to heaven and goats go to hell
-wild horses
-Where have all the cowboys gone

The personalities will remain the same and each attend a week long seminar on the behavior and phychology of animals.

Re: Real Story on score change of format

Haha..."I've got this right from the HORSES mouth" ....no pun intended right?

Wow...your going to spawn a topic about songs that include animals in it.

Hmm..

If that ever happened, the switch that is, you may have just "let the cat out of the bag"
