Greta's Question

Just heard on Fox--Greta asking an Aruban attorney, "Do you sense on your end any frustration with the Holloway case?"

Funny part of the anatomy with which to "sense." Most folks use their eyes. ears, and brains. Although, some critics no doubt would say the investigators do indeed have their sensory apparatus "in the end," to put it gracefully.

You know I am fustrated with this Holloway case, as it is not news and one of the reasons I don't watch cable "news".<P ID="signature">______________

You're right. Fox, MSNBC, and others do little news and a big dog and pony show. Homicides, even tragic ones like the Holloway case, are an unfortunate fact of life. But to play the event to the point of nausea is not "news," so we get trite time filling broadcasts such as Greta, Geraldo, and a cast of thousands asking the same, tired questions over and over, and getting the same worn out answers.

My original observation dealt with the odd nature of the question about getting "a sense on your end." But, further, many no doubt agree with
your assessment of the news value (or lack thereof) regarding the debacle in Aruba. One of the vagaries of 24 hour news when there's an insufficient flow of news to support the scheduling.

Yes, you of course are correct in your comment. My post focused on the sound of the question Greta asked and the image it conjured up. Your interpretation is literal, mine was figurative.

Hey, if Greta didn't ask idiotic, ham-handed, rambling questions, filled with stammers, false starts, non sequiturs, and awkward phrasing...she wouldn't BE Greta!

It IS something of her trademark, isn't it? Her own brand of positioning herself against all the other askers of questions.
