Gripe with Kiss 95.3

Is there anyone at the Clear Channel office in Portsmouth managing Kiss 95.3?

My gripe is the Ryan Seacrest AT40 show which airs on Sunday mornings. Ever since last year there has been a problem with the playback where at about song #5, the show switches back to an old date from October 2009. The show gets corrected back to the current date after the next commercial break. This has happened over and over again almost every week since October 19th.

This past Sunday May 2nd was the worst. At about song #20 the show went back to some older version (unidentified), and instead of getting corrected after the commercial break, it continued playing on and on to about song 13. After the next commercial break, the show went to the current Seacreat AT40 Hot AC show. (Kiss 95.3 is a CHR/Pop.) It wasn't until after the next break the show was corrected back to the current date.

How can this happen over and over again?

I am sure they are running a skeleton crew there. If this is really bothering you, send them a snail mail written complaint (Which they must put in their FCC Public File). That may get their attention.

How about calling the station? You took the time to keep track of the date and time perhaps a phone call if you are going to invets this much time.

It's worth noting that for the past two Sundays, the AT40 show has aired on Kiss 95.3 without any of the issues I mentioned when I started this.

But even with a station where there's nobody at the helm, isn't there someone responsible for making sure these types of hiccups get corrected? A computer program obviously can't QC everything.

They do a good job with WHEB, but Kiss 95.3 strikes me as the unwanted stepchild, with outdated weather, old commercials, etc.

Dude obviously you love the station! Next time there's a problem pick up the phone and call them. You might even get a t-shirt! In this day of automation no one's baby sitting the stations. That's why loyal listeners who care about the station are so important

This is pathetic. Here's a station with abslutely no reason to exist, yet WHRB in Cambridge has to protect its signal, thus limiting its availability north of Boston. When Kagan get on the SCOTUS, she should revoke its license.

Maybe the same could be said about WHRB. It's all a matter of opinion.

My exact thoughts about this toilet in Cambridge, MA. Shut it down so York Center may become a full Class A.

You would also have to shut down WZID. The deep part of the WSKX null is at 240°-250°, towards WZID (250°).
WHRB does also see some protection at 197° but its not as strong as WZID.

WHRB protects both WSKX and WBRU, so even with WSKX off, WHRB would still have to provide protection that way.

Welcome to New England, home of the sandwiched in FM stations.

All of which points out the stupidity of protecting second adjacents while doing little to protect the fringe coverage of co-channel stations, which is the key source of interference in our ever-more-congested FM band.
