In a directional multiple tower field, why does the FCC want you to put tower ground radials in the direction of a null? I thought the object of pattern was to stop the signal going in the direction of the null?
The radials affect the whole pattern. Think of them as a mirror for radio waves, reflecting the signal into a half sphere. If you have a mirror in you house, it still reflects the light at all angles.
