Group Picture - Lunch At Cap's

2 strikes...go ahead, go for 3.

1.) Mistaken for Bo Walker

2.) Mistaken for Bob Mitchell

3.) ???

I'm glad that after 41 years of radio no one knows who I am.

Bob WALKER :)

Pretty cool seeing all the familiar faces!!! great pics! btw... does anyone know how to contact Mick Mondello (Mick Monday)? I'd love to catch up with him.
Thanks,
Scot

My turn for a mistake... Warren is not in the 985... I looked at the wrong number.

Mick Monday? Haven't seen or heard from him in years.

:D Come on Oldie King...there are the certain select that HAIL the King! The Oldie King & Skinny Tommy...it's all their fault for getting me into this business! ;)

Don,
Can't Imagine Warren living anywhere but Metairie. But is he still on the air? I just listened to your morning show aircheck, I remember Darlene's laugh well. Spent countless hours with her looking at cars. She died much too young.

In my mind, the day Darlene died, July 25, 2000, was the day radio died. The corporate snakes began squeezing radio big time right around then and making wholesale changes that would ultimately change the face and sound of unique New Orleans radio forever for the worst.

If you haven't seen it, here's my Darlene tribute page on my N.O. Radio Shrine site, with a picture of her and more.

R.I.P. Darlene. You made radio fun.

Bob

Thanks for the Warren update. Too bad he's not in the biz. He loved radio for sure, and had lots of fans, like me for one! I still have the coffee mug he gave me for Christmas almost 25 years ago. Fond late night memories of that art-deco control room on Clearview, the man was in his element.

I was stuck behind the board here at WGSO for that gathering. Cap, please let me know when you do it again. I will have to stick Rudy or someone here, I missed all you guys.

Digging on the photo ops, I'm really PO'd I didn't hit harder on my probation ossifer for the OK to cross a stateline to be there. Great goggling all you crazies, especially Sweet Cherie, Weerd, Sambo & Funkyjimwhiteboy, and of course, da Cap--and was that really the legendary Bob freakin' Robin? Maybe next time, unless Katrina II's waiting to blow all y'all up here to beautiful Bull Shoals Lake. BTW, this is Soxless--a/k/a "Dere for Dummies" (WNOE-FM, WRNO 1975-'80)
