Groups Call To Fill FCC Vacancy

About 50 community groups have called on President Biden to fill the open FCC slot quickly. They particularly want to reinstate net neutrality rules that were repealed by the previous administration. Right now there is an Acting Chairman, and only four commissioners, two from each party. Biden can nominate a Democrat to the commission. Of course, the entire administration is behind in their nominations as a result in the lack of a transition period.

Curious, does this appointment require Senate confirmation? I was disappointed in Ajit Pai who was a commissioner and then later appointed Chairman. I heard him speak back when he was first appointed to the commission in probably 2012 and liked what he had to say, but in more recent years, especially once he became chairman, I didn't agree with some of his stances and moves he made. He resigned once Biden took office, which is probably the open spot they're asking the current administration to fill.
