The G8 is more selective, but it tends to mute out the very weakest of signals (something they've supposedly fixed with the PL-380). Given that, the G5 is a bit better.
The Tecsun PL-310 allows you to select MW bandwidth (1,2,3,5,or 6 kHz). That's a very helpful option that I wish more portables had. It still has the muting, but not as pronounced as the G8 - so it's at least as good with MW as the G5, IMO.
That's good to hear...I just ordered a 310 today. Has anyone compared the 310's AM/FM sensitivity to the Superadio II?BRNout said:By the way, Tecsun actually did address these issues with the PL-310 - which has good SW and LW reception as well as sharing the outstanding performance on AM and FM that the G8 offers.
