GSP Ratings

Not a whole lot going on, other than…. What has happened to WFBC???

I was thinking the same thing. That station needs a serious remake.

Hawk and Tom (and Kato) are a bunch of old guys now. They don't appeal to the demo. Have you seen some of the videos they post to social media? They look ridiculous.

The rest of the station is totally voice tracked now, too. What excitement is left? CHRs should be alive! They should be going to events! Sponsoring cool stuff.

B93.7 is <yawn>

Agreed. Hawk and Tom were yesterday’s news 15 years ago. Some CHR’s, especially in larger markets, do have hosts in their 50s and 60s but they are legends in their market. There’s nothing legendary about Hawk and Tom. At its peak it was mediocre at best.

I’m not sure if local is that big of a factor. WNOK in Columbia is entirely VT’ed and still does well. But iHeart has the resources and knowledge to execute that way better than Audacy.

Hot 98.1 does a much better job at sounding local and upbeat, but being a rhythmic CHR they don’t play a lot of current hits. I’ve always wanted them to go to mainstream CHR or at least a Rhythmic friendly Mainstream CHR.

I would disagree with you that they aren't "legendary." I might be mistaken, but they have been on the air at the same station for something like 25 years. Has anyone else done that in the market? Even if you hate them and never listen, that run definitely fits some kind of definition of "legendary." Are they "yesterday's news?" Oh yeah.

Well, to be blunt, in my opinion something has to have been good at one point to be legendary. Hawk and Tom… never were. It sounded like a bunch of hicks playing radio 20 years ago and time stopped moving.

I can't disagree with that! 😂

I was a bigger fan of Hawk and Marty and listened to them every day. When Tom came up to S.C. to replace Marty @ WFBC I was unsure if I would continue to listen. I went out of my way to go out and meet Hawk and Marty and still loved their Show. Steve.

Another thing with B93.7 - the night gal Miranda Gilbert has been gone for almost a year (replaced with Natasha Castles of KALV/Phoenix), but she’s still on the website.

LOL

Is it possible she is still part time? Or maybe they fired the website guy, too. Lol

I haven’t heard her, I believe Julia and Bru are on 7 days a week in their normal slots, Saturday’s I know. I know Elyse and Chris Goode were sent down the hall to Magic but the latter is on B-93.7 on occasion.

Now that I look, Magic has not added John Tesh back to the website since they picked his show back up a couple of years ago 😂

98.9 may have slightly improved the music mix, but it still seems a bit tired and dated. For music I prefer 102.5 and 103.9 in the Upstate and 102.9, 104.7, and 107.9 from Charlotte. And that Magic title needs to be replaced with something modern and fresh.
