GSP Spring 1 Trends

Just noticed that the Spring P1 trends had been posted for GSP.

Not a whole lot new but Hot 98.1 jumped to a 6.0. Don't have B93.7 to compare to but that can't be good news for them with Hot going more toward mainstream CHR.

One thing I found interesting too is that X98.5, while only up .1, is now matching it's sister station, Chuck, in overall ratings both at a 1.4. That's the first time I think that's ever happened. With 97.7 having a bit more power, it's impressive that X's new PD has been able to double it's ratings on a weak signal.

I've noticed that the Planet has been playing a bit more mainstream and alternative rock and not things like Five Finger Death Punch non-stop. They were down in the last book so they may be changing bit with X getting stronger in the numbers. Still far more active and not playing slower alt like Vance Joy or Death Cab for Cutie. But they do seem to be responding IMO.

X could never take them down on a translator but they can hurt the Planet.

Also see that MY is down again at 2.9. Really sad situation there. They finally starting sounding like a full fledged Hot AC. Then a new PD comes in and actually regresses the station. They're way slower in new adds than they had been in Marne's final stretch as PD. And losing that edge, any younger leaning listeners may be going back to places like B, Hot and even X (MY was playing a lot of alternative crossovers but much less now). And older listeners who just wanted a little fresher playlist can find it over at Magic where things have improved. I could see another format flip in MY's future.
