I’ve been a GST listener for years. Things are not going very well lately, and I’d like to help Clear Channel management turn things around. I’m going to post my ideas to save GST, and I hope others will do the same.CaptnKarl’s idea #1Stop trying to beat Boortz with a conservative talk host. It ain’t gonna happen. Try something completely different that goes for a younger audience. Comedy, sports, sex…something.
 
1. Fire Bloomquist now......he's not going to last the whole year, so why wait any longer. ???2. Get an FM signal for a simulcast - 96.7 for starters. :eek:3. Put the station on some of CC's local HD channels. :)4. As for programming - Sam & Dave's Car Show in the mid-mornings and move Denny to evenings after Kimmer! ;D
 
Two words:Air America.Joe Weber is moving his eclectic mix to 1690, so AA is looking for a new home in Atlanta. So why not GST?
 
1. Rebrand to Art "Madman" Mehring Radio2. Bring back the John Adams Real Estate show3. Jimmy on the AM drive, move Denny radio to 9 or 10.4. Loose the Braves
 
6 -9 Kimmer with a news focused show.9 -12 Pick one of the following a replay of the Regulars guys morning show, The Snake Davis Show, A Sports Talk show, The Dr. Buff Show, replays of The Dr. Laura Show, The Jeff Hunllinger Show, Ian Punnett. Any of these options have to be better than Denny Radio12 - 3 Rush3 - 7 Jimmy Baron
 
Agreed. Lose the Braves.Replay Rush at drive time.Light hearted talk format in the morning. Something like q100 talk. 4 or 5 people talking oprah type tripe, entertainment news and light news items.
 
Those are some interesting line-up suggestions. I would like to see the New Snake Davis and Wayne NoOffence show somewhere in the mix on WGST after Bloomie is long last fired. I would also like to see The Lgeal Show with Noah Pines and George Stein (less liberal Jamie), and John Adams return.
 
Do you really think Premiere is going to let Rush lose a top 10 market when they own the station?How about Rush 24/7... not the subscription website, but on WGST! Maybe with a few hours cut out for martian talk.
 
I hear Marc Chase has suggested replacing Rush nationally with M.J. from Tampa.
 
1. Send Denny and his agent Mike Wheeler back to Toledo2. Ship Jerry Del Corpse back to Sacramento (this would help ALL the stations in the building)3. Take Tom Hughes off the morning show and pay him 200 grand to be Hogan's houseboy4. Get Randall the help he needs with tourettes.5. Find that protestor guy a good lawyer.
 
CaptnKarl’s idea #2Clear Channel management should read this thread. There are some really good suggestions here. Firebird has a great one about getting an FM frequency for simulcast like they had in the 90’s. When people can hear your signal it’s a beautiful thing.

GST already gave him an opportunity. What did he do with it? He was live on the air and lost it. It was not a bit. He said something like “I just can’t do this” and walked away from the mic after 30 seconds. Weird…
 
I heard Kroc the other night.. was it just me, or did he sound like a younger version of David Paul??? GST will not win on the national conservative talk shows. Better off doing news and local talk with a FM simulcast.. and they really kicked themself when they got rid of John Adams.. I hope just for vengence WSB picks him up.. Does this Bloomquist do anything right or is he a professional hatchet man? and last but not least, that line for "Jerry Del Corpse" is running more truer than I think anyone imagined..
 
WGST worked in the past on FM, certainly much better than all those Marc Chase "experiments" (MIX, MAX, Cool, Real Radio etc.) But at this point, if you simulcast their current lineup on FM it would just be ignored by a larger group of people.David Paul, why not?
