Like I said to each their own. Agree or disagree I just think at 90 Uecker should step aside. There is zero point paying someone 6 figures to work 50 games a year

There is if people want to hear him call those 50 games and advertisers want to advertise because he calls those 50 games a year.

I know a guy who just recently passed away at age 90 worked up until 2 months ago and then passed away. I don't know about anyone else I reach a certain age I m retiring, Working till you are your 90s just seems extreme to me. There are always people who regret not spending more time enjoying things in life. Nobody on their death bed said they wished they worked more. Again to each other own I just don't see why Uecker or Goddard or anyone else needs to keep working.

If someone wants to keep working into their twilight years, that's fine, as long as they are capable. IMO, Goddard hung on a little too long. It was painful watching him the last few years.

I don't know Goddard, but Uecker seems to be doing fine for his age and health. But overall, too many broadcasters have held on for too long: Harry Caray, Hawk Harrelson, Jon Sterling, and more recently, Steve Stone (although he may just be fed up with White Sox ownership) come to mind immediately.

To some people, work is their life...it's all they know, and it's all they do.

Basically, if they didn't have what they do, they wouldn't know what to do.

Uecker doesn’t need to keep working, he likes doing it and that’s why he sets his own schedule on which home games he calls and for how many innings.

Case in point, there is a YT video out there with Frankie Valli "in concert", but lip syncing. What makes it worse is that he looked like he was in a fog, barely mouthing the words.

Frankie, you just got married to someone who wasn't even born yet when you hit it big. Enjoy being a newlywed and not a singer holding on to dear life!

It's been said that he has dementia/alzheimers and it's the people behind the scenes pushing him out there to "perform". Guess they can't get off the gravy train.
