In front of the Georgia Power building were a number of small "yard" signs. On one side: "VOTE NO ON 99suX". On the other side: "VOTE YES ON 105.3 THE BUZZ". For those not familiar with the layout, this was directly accross from the entrance closest to the 99X Stage.

I actually think this is a pretty clever/cost effective marketing idea, particularly given that the garage band-esque style of of the signs had a decidely alt-rock edge. I'd be curious to hear other opinions.

I didn't notice, and I look out for those sorta things.

"garage band-esque style of of the signs had a decidely alt-rock edge"?

Sounds more like a Century 21 style with a decidedly Coldwell Banker edge.

If I can be the straight man for a line like that, my day is complete. :)

I probably should have been more specific that the style was more a function of the type/lettering than a function of the yard sign.

Sounds like a take-off on the recent signs advocating different sides of the controversial parking deck issue. If so, a pretty darned good idea IMO, very "in-touch" with the community sort of thing. (and rather telling about who was being targeted with them if that's the case).

Send one to Arbitron...Actually this isn't new. WSB has been doing it for years, as well as WGST, 96rock and that old chesnut, "The Adventure" on The Mix 105.7.

The Buzz's signs were very smart, though - much better than 99X's spray-painted logos on the grass (with real spraypaint)

I went both Saturday and Sunday and 99x was going around handing out fans with TJL(BTW Fred nice way to cover up the double chin, a plane carrying a 99x - Eveerything alternatice banner and cards for the morning show promotion this week. Not that 99x did anything great but I saw nothing from 96rock except t-shirts thrown fro the stage and I was primarily at their stage both days. At least somehow promote the Regular Guys return.
