Guess On Value of KRBE to Cumulus?

Any one know or have a good idea {paging Mr. David Eduardo} of what KRBE was worth in the Cumulus buy from Susquehanna? I have a deal I made sometime ago that the person closest to the sale price for KRBE would win a bottle of their favorite adult beverage (up to $30) or the $30 to the person that came the closest to the sale price for KRBE.I have been unsuccessful in finding out even a ballpark figure and there are many guesses that are not that far apart.Any help so I can fulfill my end of the "guessing game" I started would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!Mike O

I think the only way would to be to add the billing of all the stations, and use that as a metric. Each station's billings as a part of the whole would be the percentage of the total price. I can't think of a better way, and nobody has attempted a breakout. Susquehanna billed $267 million last year. KRBE about $23 million, or 8.6%. So the price, based on "paying for billing" was $103 million. If we undervalued AMs and overvalued FMs for more typical multiples, it would be about $112 million. If we also factor in a higer multiple for a top 10 market, and a lower for outside the top 50, we are at around "118 to $120 million. But a lot of assumptions are in play there.

I forgot all about that, wasnt my gues about 97mil?

David, Thanks for the help! Unless there are any objections I am going to go with the sale price of KRBE as $120 million. KROI (ex: KRTS 92.1 a Class C1 station) sold for $78M IIRC so $120M for KRBE, a full Class C station would be a reasonable figure (to me). Let me hear your thoughts and ideas. I can not complete this game started last year as I am in Western NY State until the 16th of May. I left all the paper work with everyone's guesses at home naturally, but will announce the winner and make good on the prize by the 20th of May. jras I really can't remember your guess and don't have any of the info with me in NY. I will email you when I get home and let you know. I will type out a complete list of all who played and the guess they made.

As far as its non-monetary value to Cumulus, it's now given them a Top-10 market stick to put their corporate CHR clocks on! Between that gawd-awful morning show and now music programming from hundreds of miles away, can't wait to see the ratings free-fall begin! Say what you will about CC, but at least their PDs are actually allowed to program their stations.
