Guess the video being played in this newscast!

10's 10pm news was one of the weirdest I've seen in a long time last night:

1. The first package they play on a boating death has no audio.
2. They play footage of a house fire.
3. They play footage of the Gulf oil spill from the national news.
4. They finally go back to Marc.

Graphics were missing for some part of the news (Linda was pushed leftward), and Marc Martinez made a surprise extra appearance for several sections.

Blame the people - er, the robots - in the control room!

I have to say control room.Someone is not paying attention up there in the booth, kind of making me think news station are no longer hiring from the top of the of the barrel.

I have seen very few live programs on 10 carried off without technical glitches of some sort.

Interestingly, their live on-scene segments during the Morning Show are usually error-free. It is the more mundane stuff (rolling video's or news banners) that seem to drop through the cracks.

In defense of 10: Some of the folks behind the camera were probably 2nd and 3rd stringers (holiday weekend). I notice glitches go up on these weekends.
