Guess what Christmas song that WLTW will play first

Christmas is not an "occasional holiday." It happens on the exact same day every year..

"Christmas comes this time each year" (Beach Boys, "Little Saint Nick"), one of my all-time favorite dumb lyrics, ought to reinforce that with the format's P1 listeners!

The "keep Christ in Christmas" anti-"Happy Holidays" crowd will certainly argue, loudly and strongly.
As I said, just like April Fools Day.
I can tolerate that music on the same day every year, maybe even an entire weekend.

There's music for April Fool's Day? You mean Allan Sherman?

No one forces you to listen to these stations. If all of the stations uniformly flipped, you'd have a point. You have lots of alternatives.

Except April Fools Day is not actually a holiday. Although for some, perhaps it is.

Those are people for whom every day should be a holiday.

It's all very predictable, as is this flip to holiday music.

DO you want it to change dates every year like Easter but always fall on the same day of the week, and even like Thanksgiving where in the United States it happens on the Fourth Thursday of November.

There's a lot of history behind the December 25 date. Some religious folks would be pretty ticked if it just became another Monday holiday for a 3 day weekend.

Little, if any, of which has anything to do with a certain birth in Bethlehem. But yeah, the date's been assigned to the event for centuries, so any tampering with it would upset a whole bunch of Christians. Jewish holidays float around mainly because their dates are calculated using the Hebrew calendar, which means you never know from year to year not only what dates they'll fall on, but which days of the week.

Have you ever called a station b4 they flip, ai4i, and tell them how you feil? Right now many stations are unsure how to program for just one person's taste, but there have to be others like you. Maybe you can help perfect personnal music ecentrically programmed for just you. What music do you liike the best?

I would suggest they include a holiday music channel 24/7/365 and inform their listeners that all they have to do to hear it any time they want to is to tune their new radios to 106.7.4.

But of course, DE explained it most correctly,
"It's all about the Benjamin's".
In other words, the music doesn't really matter. It is really just filler between the spot breaks.

In. Their. New. Cars.

A trickle, when considering the big picture. How big a percentage of total car sales in the US annually do new cars represent, compared to used cars, which are much less likely to have HD-capable receivers. Is HD Radio in all new cars now? Is it part of the basic audio package at the lowest price point? Or are you talking about streaming -- the ".4" is confusing; I thought you meant an HD4 stream to go along with the three many stations have.

I was being facetious and meant that they should HIDE it away on their HD-4 or 5 or 6.
