....Yes folks! If you guessed Ricki Lake, you guesed right. Its already reported in B&C that ICM is shopping a new talker starring Lake around Hollywood. If it gets picked up look for her to re-enter the fray in 2006.

Ricki Lake's Comeback (Was: Re: Guess who's coming back to Talk TV???)

I do know that Megan Mullally will be starting a syndicated talk show in September of 2006 which has already been cleared by most NBC O&O's. Robin Quivers (Howard Stern's longtime sidekick) is also hoping to get a syndciated TV talk-show launched in the Fall of 2006, but it's iffy at this point as to whether that will occur.

Ricki Lake's comeback could end Quivers' hopes of entering the talk TV arena, and depending on the ratings for current syndicated talk shows, could also hurt Mullally's proposed show as well.

And if Ricki Lake indeed launches a new show in September of 2006, I believe she will be 39 at the time the show premieres, so she's still relatively young.

Is her new show going to be pure trash talk like the first one or is she going to go in an Ellen/Rosie direction this time?

From what I hear this one won't be trashy, but it'll have a 'mature' feel to it, a la "Tyra".

I don't know, but since she walked away(She didn't want to re-up with Sony) in 2004 the talk TV scene has be medicore, save for "Oprah", "Maury" and "Ellen".

Personally I missed her show and I taped most of her final season. If she does return at least she can fill one of the 3 slots occupied by "Maury" up here in Seattle.

I Am Looking Forward to Megan Mullally's Show. I think She Will Be A

Breath Of Fresh Air In An Otherwise Stale Medium.

Actually her birthdate is September 21st, 1968, which means that when her talk show does come to the air she'll be 37(Even though she'll turn 38 after its debut) in 2006.
