Hmm...Clear Channel names Guy Zapoleon VP of Digital Music Programming in charge of IHeartRadio's 80 channels among other stuff. Probably a good move for both parties since most of Guy's former accounts are either owned by Clear Channel or the other 3-4 radio conglomerates and he's among the best at what he does...but I ask, isn't it a little bit like selling your soul to the devil? I am totally neutral here as I am the least judgemental person in the world plus I only possess limited knowledge based on my limited frame of reference.
By the way has anyone else noticed that some of the CC stations, like 950 KPRC, are identifying themselves as "an IHeartRadio station" rather than a "Clear Channel" station...are they trying to get away from bad press ala Firestone/Bridgestone or is this some major strategic move recognizing that terrrestrial broadcasting is a dying business and the internet/radio app is the future?
