Has anybody heard about a return to San Diego of Lee Hamilton? Re Act!

Haven't heard anything, but I'd like to see him back on a daily basis. If I remember correctly he broadcasts from North County.

What they did to him at KLAC was garbage, he might be old school -- but Money/Grande and whoever else are enough to change the dial, I wonder how long CC will give them.

How funny you should mention it. It seems people have been calling Mighty 1090 saying: "Yeah, I'm glad you didn't hire that LEE HAMILTON guy. Don't hire that LEE HAMILTON guy." I heard one such call just yesterday.

Seems to me somebody is trying to press the isssue, in a reverse sort of way.

Does this answer your question?

Hacksaw still broadcasts out of the Clear Channel San Diego studios

Re: HACKSAW/1090 Lineup

Saw would be a good addition to 1090. He is old school,
but nobody works harder than the saw. He does a "show"
not a series of teases with no payoff. Werndell is good, but
his co-host is on the light side. The morning show just
isn't getting any better, they sound like George & Lennie
from Mice & Men. B.R. doesn't sound so swift, Scott does
most of the schmoozing & boosteism. Saw could bring some
direction & intensity to a fairly good, but lackluster
station. 1090 with those wacked warnings on satellite
radio, weird Lynch editorials, & Teddy Lightweight. Ted
is best on baseball play by play, that easy going-delivery
& his odd meter & reference points work there. In afternoon drive
he sounds half out of it, too much schmoze & snooze.
I like Lynch and hope he can acquire another station for
the East County coverage. They are a class act, just need
some attention to the product.

Beating a dead horse (imho)

Hacksaw and Leitner will NEVER happen, so don't waste your energy.
If Haksaw every goes to 1090, Leitner will leave.

Unlesss that is what you want. But don't think for a minute that just because you don't like Leitner that others don't. You either like him, or you hate him. I like listening to Ted, as others do, but don't care for Hacksaw.

And that's the problem. If you get Hacksaw, but dump Ted, you'll gain all the people who like Hacksaw, but lose all of Ted's following. But you'll never have both, unless John offers Ted a WHOLE lot of money. I firmly believe that the only reason that Ted never worked at Xtra was because Hacksaw was there.

Anyway, this is not even a real story, so why are we even talking about this? Was there some story that Hacksaw was going to 1090? Sounds like speculation to me. This is now rumors get started. And its a thin line between rumors and lies, and someone could get sued...

Nobody gets sued for speculating where someone may end up for a job...
Hacksaw has a new deal with KOGO to do some things which has been reported already. Also Ted was really never asked to work at 690 which is why he never worked there. I would "speculate" that if the right deal was presented they both could co-exist on the same station. They are both professionals. Some of the banter is fun-hype.

Re: Beating a dead horse (imho)

Hey, what's with the attitude?. I am responding to
another post, who are you Leitner's agent?... Chill.
Saw has always been a strong ratings and revenue
generator in San Diego. He's tied into several more
years at CC, but could make a move after that.
The again he may not.

Lynch would ultimately make those decisions, not Leitner.
Ted's great at baseball, this is what he brings to XPRS.
Do you think Rome, Saw, or the late great Chet Forte got
along? No. But they produced great ratings. I saw it from the inside.
