Hacktastic!

Ya know, at first I thought this was extremely funny because of the lax security on the WIBX website. Tough times for the Techno Touch Team, and all that.

Then the Significant Other pointed out that they might have been targeted by Turkish nationalists because of Julian Noga's show. Say what you will about the rest of the crew at Regent, but Mr. Noga properly deserves to be on the short list of broadcasters in the area deserving of some respect.

Your friend forever,
Biggus

P.S.- Yes, I know he does a niche show, but the guy pretty much defines the qualities of localism and audience relatability for what he does. Plus he stood up to the freakin' Gestapo, something that makes our sad little simperings pale in comparison.

The hacked page features the Turkish coat of arms and national anthem, which is consistent with the latest wave of hacks from Turkish nationalists. One of the groups the neo-Turks don't like are the Poles, along with Armenians, Kurds, Slavs, and a handful of other national and ethnic targets. Why the Poles? Because their magnificent mounted cavalry defeated Turkish troops at the Siege of Vienna and saved Western civilization from the Ottoman Empire.

In 1529.

That's right, the Turks are still pissed about a battle that was fought close to 500 years ago.

They could have been drawn to the WIBX website because of the description of Mr. Noga's "Polonaise" program, which features Polish news and music. I know it sounds bizarre, and it is, but it's not like WIBX has the only local website with an unsecured directory.

Your friend forever,
Biggus

P.S.- If you think that's bizarre you should check out Turkish porn. There's an entire subset of the Turkish nationalist movement that sees homegrown sex videos demonstrating the virility and sexiness of Turks as a vital part of their movement. No, I am not making this up.

...you can count the Hungarians as having long memories about the Turks too... that little dust-up in southern Hungary in the early 16th century...

So here we are kids, in two days the board's gone from six months of a sedentary and moribund death rattle to the freakin'.... History Channel!

There are few things more satisfying in life than being able to link a hacked radio station website with amatuer porn videos...while staying on topic.

My work for today is now done.
