.....The last time I caught Spenser Hughes on THE talk station was a few months back when the car radio was left on "RKO, it was the Sunday he had a kinipshite because of all the glitches in phoning it in from Frisco, no callers for the whole first hour! Hilarious:) ...Well you guessed it,again with the car radio... heard the first segment yesterday...the callers sounded like they were 50,000 leagues under the sea! Again... Hilarious! Way to go 'RKO! going down faster then JohnJohn's piper cub! SeeYa :)

Granted this isn't a word we see very often, but it is "conniption" not a "kinipshite" hehehe.

By the way wasn't 'RKO supposed to be doing the Revolution yesterday?
I think the Revs were playing at 3 pm and the Herald said the game
would be on 'RKO (I guess they won and will face L.A. in the final).
But about 4 pm I hit the 'RKO button and heard Spencer saying goodbye.
Maybe the game got shifted to 'EEI. (thought game started at 3...)

>FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) -- Clint Dempsey scored four minutes into the game to lift New England over the Chicago Fire 1-0 on Sunday and help the Revolution advance to the MLS finals.

From the 'RKO site: " In a sea of syndication and stagnation, there's just nothing else like it on the radio. Period. LIVE AND LOCAL SUNDAYS on WRKO.

Live but NOT local*...isn't Hughes in Cal-ee-for-nee-a?

*--well, maybe geared toward the local audience but not originating from
the station's studios. Right, Michael Graham?

Speaking of the Revs, well, we know the Sox were one-and-done this year in
the playoffs. Not sure how Pats, B's, or Celts will do, but maybe the
Boston area will have a world championship this year--in _soccer_. It all
depends if our guys can score a gooooooooooooooooaal! Goooooooooooooal!
(They won 1-0 yesterday--another offensive juggernaut in soccer!)

All this amateur league stuff happening at RKO is the direct result of losing a world class PD, Mike Elder, and the subsequent release of the GM, Tom Baker. It's obvious that RKO is lower on the Entercom food chain than either of their two fringe FM's - 'AAF and "Mike" - and these situations clearly point out that no one of any consequence is watching the store.

BTW, this is not a knock on Brian Whitttemore, the new OM...he's just getting to know how bad the situation is about now.
