I am curious, Who owns the rights to Matlock now?

WGN America. Weekdays at 10AM Eastern. Channel 307 DirecTV Channel 239 Dish Network. COX Cable of New England Digital Channel 82.

In the D/FW market, "Matlock" airs on KFWD/52 at 9pm Sunday nights (replacing Star Trek - darnit! :-( )

IIRC, "Matlock" is a syndicated show, so no one station owns the "rights." Don't remember who produced it - might it have been Universal TV? But it aired on NBC and ABC from 1986-1995.

Viacom produced "Matlock"; it's now owned by CBS, the same people who now syndicate "Star Trek".

Hallmark was pretty good for a Sunday afternoon while sewing or baking with murder mysteries all day long. I don't have A.D.D., but I could watch Peter Falk forever and a day - can't think of a thing he played in that I didn't like, going all the way back to "Husbands". The In-Laws, and of course his most famous role as Columbo. He's a good actor. Same with Matlock - Andy Griffith. No Time For Sergeants. Classic stuff.

ION... with what they're running now has increased its ratings and thus (in theory) can charge more for advertising.

Nah, they'll probably just charge higher rates for infomercials...
