Hallmark Hall of Fame Now On ABC

Did anyone notice that the "Hallmark Hall of Fame" quietly moved over to ABC last night? That shocked me when I saw it on ABC, as I was thinking that it has always been on CBS for it's 60 plus years. (However, after researching a bit, it looks like it's been on CBS, NBC, ABC and even PBS at one point.) It appears that it moved to CBS late 70's/early 80s? Still, that's quite a long run on one network. Kinda reminds me of when the Peanuts moved from CBS to ABC a few years back after their long run on CBS.

Hallmark Hall Of Fame's original home was NBC-which aired The longest-running Made-for-TV Movie series from 1951 to 1978. That's 27 Years on the air. One sidenote: It's own announcer, Jim Birdsall who has been the voice of The HHOF since 1988. Birdsall, a Kansas City Native-has also done voiceover work for Cici's Pizza, NFL Films, CNBC, as well as several local television stations.

Do you have proof of all of this?

End of an era!

They were kind enough just the one time to give us the elegant introduction music with the man who has introduced the movies giving us his grand welcome and description.

Someone new said a couple of words last night and the movie started.

Our old friend was back to say the movie (he didn't say which one most times) was returning after the break, but no one announced that any of the breaks were coming.

And those breaks sometimes had three Hallmark commercials rather than two. There were at least two breaks with network and/or local commercials.

The man did at least say the movie's name when the time came for the conclusion.

Hallmark never did those standard credits with an ad for CBS programming running at the top of the screen.

I don't remember if ABC did that before, but they did it last night.

Having said all that, the movie was great.
