I have heard in the past that Twitch has had other opportunities so he shouldn't be a free agent for long. I wish him the best.

Todays CA has an article on Steve Conley and the other lay-offs at 1960 Union. It says that in addition to Steve, Terry Wood and Garner Miller that 3 other former CBS employees were laid off... Anyone have any idea who?

Jane Lester was one of them. Been there forever....can't imagine walking in the building without seeing her there.

No! One of the nicest people in the building, and probably could have retired!

I think that Jane and her little squeaky voice did a "swap shop" type program years ago on WHBQ when it was talk.

Well I guess now I am not the only one being fired these days. Interesting. There are several more just like me. Hmm. Back to my songwriting I guess.

There are two and only two types or radio folks:

Those that HAVE been fired, and those who WILL be fired.

Crazy business. I'm glad my paycheck doesn't come from it any more.

Well I plan on writing and producing my own songs and selling them on the web. Its a lot more fun. Besides I have 2 small home businesses so I will become my own boss. How sweet the sound. Its always nice to have a backup plan. Not only that, Westwoodone lost a huge talent so its their loss not mine. Later folks its beer time.

Get to work RJ.....and turn up that damn scanner! Are you still on 103?

Yeah, after my second firing, I wrote and memorized my own concessions speech. When I used it for my third firing, they were in shock. ;D

What sucks though is that after you leave this business, it's hard to explain to potential employers that all of these firings are the business and not your fault. They tend to say "uh huh..sure."

So start your own business or go to work for the government. Either path, no one will care. Trust me. I did both. ;D
