Halloween Music

I'll be keeping an ear out for some Halloween songs that could be getting airplay this weekend. Any predictions on what songs these radio stations will play, other than "Thriller" & "Ghostbusters"?

But before that happens, I got my Top 10 Halloween Songs Of The 80's & 90's (without "Thriller" & "Ghostbusters"!) all ready to air this Friday 5-7pm on WPRK-FM 91.5 (www.wprkdj.org) for those of you who care. I'm hoping Kid Kelly will soon be making a run for his money, because I got Count Dracula counting down with me!

Ha. Ha. Ha. :D

I'm thinking of playing the "Rocky Horror Picture Show" soundtrack on Sunday night. In addition to us old folks who have seen the movie dozens of times, Glee is doing a Rocky Horror show tonight so this touches a new, younger audience too. Anybody else done this??

Yes, those 2 songs will probably play on other stations that don't even play 60's or 70's music to begin with... 105.9 Sunny FM will probably do it.

However, both songs are NOT on my Top 10, because it's NOT from the 80's or 90's. My Top 10 only covers 2 of the decades I was alive in. Can you guess before Friday?

Ha. Ha. Ha. :-X

Right now off hand I can only think of Dead man's party by Oingo Bongo, Everyday is Halloween by Ministry Devil inside by INXS, All you Zombies by the Hooters and Pet Sematary by The Ramones.

Good choices, FrankF. However, none of them are in my Top 10.
Ha. Ha. Ha.

Here's a clue: My Top 10 leans heavily on Dance & Hip Hop instead of Rock.

OK, how about Freaks come out by Whodini.

Ummm...

DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince-A Nightmare On My Street
Hammer-Addams Groove
Bobby Brown-On Our Own (theme from Ghostbusters II )
Rockwell-Somebody's Watching Me
Whodini-The Freaks Come Out At Night (as FrankF said)

Longshots:
Duran Duran-Hungry Like The Wolf
Shriekback-Nemesis
Rob Zombie-Living Dead Girl

FrankF: Close.

Obtuse1: 3 of those songs are in my Top 10. ;)

"A Nightmare On My Street" = 102 Jamz "Back In The Day Buffet". Slight chance it'll be on Power 95.3 & XL106.7.
"Addam's Groove" will probably be in the mix during XL106.7's "Extreme XL".
"On Our Own" = Star 94.5, since they play Bobby Brown songs regularly.
"Somebody's Watching Me" = Mix 105.1 & Star 94.5, maybe on XL106.7 as a mashup remix on "Extreme XL".
"Hungry Like The Wolf" = Mix 105.1's "Friday Night 80's" or WMMO 98.9.
"Freaks Come Out At Night" = 105.9 Sunny FM's "Saturday Night Classic Dance Showcase".
Cranberries = Mix 105.1 or Magic 107.7. I found a remix that's XL106.7 "Extreme XL" friendly, too.
Shriekback just played on my station (WPRK-FM 91.5) this morning.
Rob Zombie = WJRR 101.1.
"Ghostbusters" = Mix 105.1 & XL106.7's "Extreme XL".
I also expect "Thriller" to dominate on most of our stations.

Stormychuck, good call. Ha. Ha. Ha. :D
Top 10 will start at about 5:40ish & last until around 6:20p, with "honorable mentions" surrounding both sides.

I will replay my Top 10 Halloween Song Countdown Of The 80's & 90's later tonight (Fri night/Sat morning) at 3am hour on WPRK-FM 91.5 / www.wprkdj.org.

Please play "Werewolves in London" and "Monster Mash" and "ghostbusters". These are great songs.....OMG :mad:
