I kinda considered a vanity call, but I couldn't come up with something witty enough to do it. I'd be glad to take suggestions. That would be very cool. (and geeky all in the same time)...

I'm not so sure that witty is the most important issue.

Can't beat a 1x2. Easy to send, helps in a pile-up, and looks great on a QSL card.

They're just hard to find sometimes. Here in 4-land, you have to steal them from dead people. Really.

My original call was KC5MFA. Man did I have some fun with the phonetics on that one! My current call, AE5DW, is a vanity. AE are my dad's first and middle initial, DW are my first and last initials. I thought that was cool.

Well, we at least can have a Ham radio reunion at the Pearl River Co. Hamfest ;) as I figure Don and a few others would be attending that huh?

Yup.

BTW, the date has changed. They had it on the second Saturday of December last year (12/8) and had scheduled it for the 6th this year not knowing that the 6th was the first Saturday. The new date is now the second Saturday, 12/13.

We'll probably be there if Jim gets the day off. Hes working so many hours over the past few weeks that he needs to get prior approval to get a weekend day off. Working for the state SUCKS...I did it for a while and quit. Too many pissy people who know they can't get fired so they do what ever they want...enough about that...on to the Ham fest
