I have written a system tray application for an Enco DAD user who wanted game-port control and a couple of system-wide hotkeys to control the playback from a Tipro keyboard. DADMAN was my solution: a free program that supports 6 joystick buttons and 6 CTRL-xxx keys. It resides in your system tray, doesn't need to be in focus and uses Enco's DAD API to send DCL commands to any DAD visible on your network - 2 different workstations per command, too.
I am working on an Arrary panel for this which will allow you to control remote Arrays in a "mirror" fashion, eg: MINAR1 feeds FM and MINAR2 feeds AM - by selecting either button, the buttons panel will trigger BOTH Arrays for split audio. The idea behind this is to allow for quick talent-operated actions that usually require a bit of fiddling with DCLs in a Playback module

I appreciate that most installations use professional GPI cards and switcher boxes but if you ever wanted a quick way of remote-starting DAD, adding some custom buttons or using a a keyboard RCS-stylee then this could be useful to you...
