HANGING UP THE HEADPHONES AFTER 22 YEARS

All my life media has been my passion. From being a quality control editor at the world headquarters of the discover channel; to working the boards at one of London's biggest radio station; Reading a weather forecast in DC to doing what will be my third full show on my local NPR affiliate. As of June 14th 2013 radio will be a thing of the past for me, very bittersweet.

I am blessed to have the chance to say thank you and goodbye one the air

I am going to play a song IE Changes by David Bowie then talk then end with a Thank You son

since this sort of goodbye is so rare in radio, I would appriciate all the advice I can get; what should I say and what sangs should I play the tracks are limited to two

Thank you

Reminds me of the sign-off themesong for the TV show "Your Hit Parade", back in the 1950s:

"So long for awhile...
That’s all the songs for awhile...
So long from Your Hit Parade,
And the songs that you picked to be played...
So long...."

Good luck to you, DukeFan4Life!

I don't know if this is a typo, but any radio company that allows you to give them 59 weeks' notice is a great radio company to work for!
