According to the 2nd Spring Trend, Hank made the strongest gain of any station and the highest share on 97.1 in years. They have surpassed WNOU, ZPL, and WRZX. #1 WFMS dropped points in the book, although it wasnt much. Think this Hank thing may actually work?? <P ID="signature">______________

How many times on this board had it been said...."Just make 'ENS country and get it over with!" We all knew it would work better than REAL 97.1 or Mix 97.1 or 97.1 WENS. Too bad they had mess with the heads and lives of soooo many people to get there.

I know it's just a trend, but it looks good...........finally.

Im just glad the Hot ac W.E.N.S is finally out of its Miserie. Besides that, Hank is the only station my parents can listen to, since Jack stole the Gold. lol....... Now, Me personally gave up on Indianapolis radio a long time ago, and happy to say that I use Sirius Satelite, and Internet Radio to handle my radio needs. Now if they would only straighten out WNOU, and lean it more Rhtyhmic, Get rid of the crappy Talent, and hire real Jocks, and Play some more Dance music at night, and on Weekends.

And to the previous post....WFMS lost NOTHING from HANK at all....not sure where the new numbers came from....might be country fans who gave up on radio....but WFMS lost nothing in the last trend....looks like they may drop some from winter to spring....but none of those are from Hank. (wish i could be more specific...but you know)....Also....when book does come out...will be interesting to see breakouts....I don't have access but I do check out the www.indyradio.com website that gives em out!

With the numbers that WNOU is doing right now, it wouldnt hurt to try. Besides that, every other CHR that is doing well in the country leans rhythmic, and plus, dance music, is starting to become more popular on CHR radio. Does anyone know if WNOU is playing DHT-Listen to your heart? I havent heard it there yet, but I havent listened much either. Im not saying they should play alot of Dance, just this one particular song, and maybe one, or two more. Beisdes that, even RadioGeek knows that their on air talent sucks, their not funny, their not cool. They sound like young Hillbillies. The girl DJs are the only ones at WNOU that dont suck, they are actually pleasant to listen to. I am talking about Misti, And if CASSIE would find a new crew to do mornings with, she would be cool. We dont have a very good CHR TOP 40, for market 40 something. I have better in market 175. We need a Z-100, or 933 FLZ type of station here, or something similar to Sirius Hits One.<P ID="edit"><FONT class="small">Edited by midwestclubber on 07/05/05 12:48 AM.</FONT></P>

Most smaller markets have better radio....not so corporate, consulted, and over researched!


In my opinion, a true CHR Top 40 wouldn't suffer from lack of mainstream music. What is "mainstream" music anyway? Mainstream is what is hot at the time....all of it....That means hot rock and alternative tracks, hip hop, r&b, adult type tracks, even country cross overs....

In my experience, Urban to go up against urban is a tough battle...it is easier to give a different product and "sell it" as a superior one.

The "idea" of radio now isn't so flawed....but the execution is....

You gotta love that on the side bar under "about our stations" GOLD 104.5 is still listed. Guess the site hasn't been "Jacked" yet.
