Hank Shaw

After 25 years of overnight bliss, Good'ole Hank was fired back in December. Word from the kids in the hall is it could have been years sooner if FUS hadn't outplayed QYK for Blair Garner back in 2005.
PS..Blair is gone from FUS too,,now on CTQ.
 
Great "overnight" jock story. Back sometime in the 80's, my dear friend Joe Hager was doing the mid to 6A shift. Entry into the QYK portion of the Koger center was either via the front glass doors (which were locked at night) or through a back door and another door that led to the hallway. On air folks after hours would use the hallway door to get to the bathroom. The door, however, would lock behind you after exiting. Hager knew this and was always aware of putting some sort of door stop to prevent being locked out. Well, you guessed it. Around 3A Hager makes a bathroom trip and forgets. Click! Don't think he used the option of calling Rod Brosig to get back in. Memory is fuzzy and don't recall how he got back in, however, legend says there was considerable dead air.
 
I remember well. He went through the false ceiling and above the wall.
Sad to see Hank go. He is a great guy and can "do" (Green Acres) Mr. Haney's voice like no other.
 
Since they are non commercial radio, they don't count.
 
I wish I knew...I worked with Hank for 9 years and there never was a nicer person in the building. And he should have been treated better than this for all his years of service and being passed over for a better shift. But that's just my opinion, for what it's worth.

Doesn't CC own both FUS and the "After Midnight" franchise? Boy, talk about cookie-cutting off your nose to spite your ears!

I know....And I bet Culotta would agree...they can put Randy and Dave's little Kermit The Frog sounding sidekick, Chuck in the overnight position. What a fish out of water! Even though he has been running there shows for years aftert Veronica left, he does NOT have a radio presence AT ALL. If anyone, put Barbara Ann in that slot.
