Hannity/ABC contract talks??????????

I heard about a year ago that Sean was interested in getting a better deal...maybe even a rev share that would get him Rush $$$$$. So, I would say if we are hearing from other sources, it might be true. You can bet Boyce will do his best to keep him (OR AT LEAST STAY WITH HIM?!?).

I guess Sean should get Rush $$$ since Sean is basically doing Rush's show for three exrtra hours. Same content, smae opinions and almost unbelievably, some of Rush's own usual expressions! The guy is shameless in his attempt to copy Rush.

If stations didn't have Rush as a cornerstone, Hannity and his ilk would actually have to fend for themselves audience-wise, and I think we know how well THAT would turn out.

I disagree. Sean Hannity does his own show as does Mark Levin. We are all influenced by others, but most talkers have their own schtick. The only blatant rip-off is Randi Rhodes. She
has mimicked her mentor for 15 years.

Mentor? Who's that?

You disagree?

Have you actually LISTENED to Sean?

He ROUTINELY uses the same expressions as Rush, even mimicking Rush's intonation when answering calls. I hear A LOT of talkradio, and even the most obvious Rush imitators don't go that far.

It's pathetic.

Speaking of pathetic....
The fact that the ONLY "blatant ripoff" you can identify happens to be Randi Rhodes, says an awful lot about your agenda, not to mention disingenuousness. Gee, no blatant ripoffs among conservatives, just the most high profile liberal! Imagine that!

Yeah, you're fair and balanced---about as much as Faux News!

I always wonder if people like you know how transparently you come across. Do you believe you're being "consistant" by only pointing out the faults of ONE side vs. your own? All you really end up doing is looking childish, like all those other partisan "adults".

Whether on the left or right, I don't know how these types can look themselves in the mirror every day----or are they so delusional that they can't see their own double standards?

Probably the latter.

Back in the music days, WABC hired a kid named Bob Cruz primarily because he sounded like Dan Ingram. At that time, they had moved Dan to morning drive (a mistake) and needed someone to hold the afternoon. By sounding like Big Dan, Cruz got the job for a year.

WABC did the same thing with Hannity. He was trained and then moved into the 3-6 slot to continue the Rush show. For the other stations who have both, its a 1-2 punch. It works, even if the second show is mostly an angry rip-off.

...you people can take any topic and turn it into a whiny little 'conservative radio' bit**-fest...,

But a Hannity show is nothing but a 'conservative radio' bit**-fest. He's capable of only one shrill topic at a time. Right now it's all Obama and the 60s radical he sits on a board with. At least Limbaugh is smart and talented enough to have a mix of topics with humor. Hannity isn't mentioning real issues (like jobs, gas prices and the war) that affect Americans - probably because these important issue would remind listeners that the economy is in the toilet and citizens are tired of an endless war. Hannity and company don't like McCain, so they are they are picking an Obama talking point - which since the debate has been a yawn with the American public.

Look at the topic. Does it have anything to do with Hannity's content choices? His style? Who he does or doesn't sound like? No.

But it only took 2 replies for cm454 to chime in twith this:

I realize some of you hate Hannity with a white hot burning passion and think that it's truly the pinnacle of injustice that he's achieved the success he has while you're still pining away with your true talent unrecognized, but really, try to restrain your impulsive reactions every once in a while and see if you can stay on topic.

This topic got stupid 2 replies in. You can't say the name 'Hannity' without the rabid wingnuts going apes**t. It's too bad we can't talk business here anymore.
